October, Gonzo & a new project

Well, today is the first day of October, the last day of regular season, and the day the baseball fans of Arizona mourn as the last day for Luis Gonzales as a Diamondback. Fans will also miss Craig Counsell, and had he not been with another team for a bit, might have also gotten the tremendous reception that Gonzo got.  Now onto some real estate items.

There was an article on AZ Central a couple of days ago about a new proposed project for Downtown Phoenix.  There have been so many great developments in the Downtown Phoenix renaissance, and this will be a great addition.  The ability to shop for groceries has been lacking for all of the new homeowners in this developing part of the city, and that will be remedied with the planned CityScape project.  If approved this coming week, the project will cover roughly 3 city blocks, include 4 towers with 250,000 sq feet of retail, dining and entertainment and an AJ's market.  One tower will be an office tower, the second possibly a combination of office and residential, and the remaining two will be residential with a boutique hotel and 1000 condos.  Phoenix is working hard to have a thriving downtown, something that most other major cities have.  Construction could start in the spring of 2007.
