DOWNTOWN/OLD TOWN SCOTTSDALE
Home to old western-themed streets and art galleries (Scottsdale’s number of galleries is second only to NYC), the Downtown or "Old Town" portion of Scottsdale is your entertainment destination! It has one of the highest concentrations of bars and nightclubs in the nation; with everything from patio bars to ultra-luxe lounges, there is something for everyone. There is also a diverse restaurant selection, varying from classic greasy spoons to high-end fine dining.
Old Town is where you find Scottsdale Fashion Square, one of the 10 largest malls in the US – it offers major anchors like Neiman-Marcus and Nordstrom, plus Dillard’s and Macy’s. There are rumors of Barney’s New York moving into the former Robinsons-May spot, too!
This area is home to Scottsdale Civic Center, which includes Scottsdale Osborn Hospital, governmental offices, and Scottsdale Stadium – the San Francisco Giants’ Spring Training location.
As for homes, there are a number of major mid-rise projects here along the Scottsdale Waterfront – upscale condo homes with views of Camelback Mountain and the Valley. New condos here can start upwards of $1M, although smaller 1 or 2 bedroom homes will start at roughly $600k.
If luxury condos aren’t your ideal, Old Town/Downtown Scottsdale has other offerings, including apartments, condos, town homes, patio homes, and older single-family homes. Due to its proximity to all the amenities and growth, this area has seen great appreciation.
