Phoenix area real estate for Canadians
Hi,
I have been in Alberta Canada for the last few days doing seminars for Canadians looking to purchase vacation or investment property in the Phoenix area. This time of year we always see an influx of "snowbirds" and vacationers. This year it seems to be bigger due to a very favorable exchange rate and lower prices in our market.
Thursday evening I did a seminar in Edmonton, held at the Fantasyland Hotel at the West Edmonton Mall (Largest mall in the world). This was put together with Ed Massa, Shaddy Estephan and Peter Estephan of RE/MAX Elite in Edmonton, and myself. Turnout was a little less than expected, but went very well. Aside from the presentation, there were lots of great questions asked about the Phoenix market, how to purchase in the US and specifically the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa,etc market. Great interest and overall a successful event.
Last night I presented in Grande Prairie, AB along with a couple agents from British Columbia. While our styles and info varied, the audience of over 30 seemed appreciative and had additional questions. We are doing it again this afternoon for another crowd of about 30.
THere is way too much info to cover in the short amount of time we have to talk about the market, but this gets people started. For me it is simple. There are 3 main reasons for Canadians to look at purchasing in the Phoenix area. The exchange is predicted to hit par again by the end of the year. Prices are lower now than at any time in the past 10 years, yet the last few months have seen a rebound in pricining and sales, as well as a decline in inventory. The Phoenix are has always attracted visitors for it's climate, amenities and friendly feel.
