End of the year crunch...

Like many businesses, real estate tends to see an end-of-the-year push to make and close sales. Between now and the end of the year, we have 4 homes closing - a new-build home in Anthem, a new-build condo in Tempe, a condo conversion in Scottsdale, and a re-sale home. Builders and developers especially like to close as many homes as they can in each calendar year, so come December, there's a big crunch to complete and close homes. We know of one builder that has 3 different series of homes (Starter, move-up and semi-custom) in a community in Gilbert - they are attempting to close 160 (!) homes in December - that's unheard of! With subcontractors out, bank/title/county offices closed on holidays, and buyers out-of-town, it's a monumental task!
With that being said, if you are considering purchasing a new home or condo conversion, NOW IS THE TIME! Builders are eager to make their sales projections, and are much more open to making concessions to hit their targets. They will be agressive in their pricing of "Spec" homes - there are some great buys out there!
