9/11
Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to take a moment to expand upon Sharon's blog yesterday for 9/11. I was in NYC this weekend. And although time did not allow for me to visit the Ground Zero site, I was fortunate to have other activities that brought home what it means to be an American. I went on a River Cruise around Manhattan Island that brought into view reminders of what we are about. We sailed South on the Hudson and around the tip of Manhattan where TWO BRIGHT beams of light shone to the sky where the Twin towers once stood. To me these beacons shine as an indication of the American spirit, shining to the sky uninterrupted, we will not be deterred. As we returned we passed the Statue of Liberty, where we were honored to witness a fireworks display in front of the Statue. We could see Ellis Island nearby as well. All reminders of who we are, what we hold dear, and how we should never let the terrorists win.
