Long Weekend TO DO

HI to all!

Since most of you have a nice, long weekend, here's some valuable info regarding appliance maintenance.  Yes, I know it's not as fun as going to Lake Pleasant boating this weekend, but there are some advantages:  These are all quick, easy items to perform, require no special tools or skills, and they will save you money on both power usage and by extending the life of your appliances!  Plus, if you're an SRP Customer on the "Time-Of-Use" plan, all this weekend is considered "off peak"!

REFIGERATOR:  Unplug and pull the fridge out.  Vacuum the coils and the floor underneath and behind it.  Clean the drain pan.
DISHWASHER:  Run a regular wash cycle with 1 cup of distilled white vinegar in the upper and lower racks.
WASHING MACHINE:  Run the washing machine empty on full cycle with hot water and 2 cups of vinegar or lemon juice.  Repeat with just the hot water.
DRYER:  Clean lint build-up from the vent system - locate the 'flap vent' on the pipe that connects your dryer to the outside and clean the entire piping and vent.

While you're on your home-cleaning kick, why not clean out your closets?  REMAX Excalibur is hosting a clothing drive for victims of Hurricane Katrina.....round up those items and we'll post drop-off details here tomorrow!
