What a week!
The title says it all. It has been a fabulous and interesting week. I spent a few days in Vancouver, BC, Canada this past week, networking with some great RE/MAX agents from all over western Canada. The weather was as to be expected for Vancouver this time of year, crisp, cool and wet. Made me long for the fantastic weather of Scottsdale and the Valley of the Sun. At least it wasn't the frigid temps of mid Alberta though.
I will cover a few things gleaned from this trip over the next few days and blog posts, but here's a quick glance ahead on what I will cover. The perceptions of US and Canadian citizens are very close yet very far apart. Whether it's politics the economy or just what people think of others across the border, I had some very interesting conversations.
While there I also met with Steve Jagger, co-founder of Ubertor, the company that hosts my website. Ubertor is based in Vancouver. Since the site was first launched, I have gotten compliments of how easy it is to navigate in relation to so many other real estate sites. Steve is a techie, not a real estate guy, but he knows how to listen to what we want and stay ahead of the curve on what makes a good site. Now if only I would actually implement all the good ideas! More on that soon, but I expect you will see some nice changes to the site in the near future.
Aside from this trip, I have seen a lot more activity in the market, and I am hearing the same from other agents. I will get some data on the blog within the next couple of days. I really feel that if we can see a sustained drop, even if it is small, in the inventory levels, then we will see it continue. There are a lot of people waiting for the"bottom". When the consensus says we have hit it, we should see a steady drop in inventory due to the people who are waiting. In the meantime, there are many bargains out there, and plenty of people to snap them up. Who doesn't love a bargain!
