Positive news about the Phoenix Real Estate market

We all know that real estate has taken a beating across the nation in the past couple of years.  It could even be said that the Phoenix area could be the poster child for what has happened.  After all, the Phoenix metro area had over 50% appreciation in 2004-2005 for the highest in the country.  The old adage of the bigger they come the harder they fall, could hold true.  (Keep in mind that if we had continued at the more normal pace we were on of 7-8% per year, we are just about where we should be now.)
Despite that, there are still lots of positives for the Phoenix market.  Nobody can say for sure if pricing has hit bottom, but there are enough factors that show that it still is a good time to buy.  Inventory is high providing excellent choices.  Rates are low making a purchase more affordable.  The Phoenix area economy is still good, and the old standby of our fabulous weather will continue to draw people here for years to come.
Well, here are a couple more items that speak to the strength of the market going forward.  In a recent article in Resident Magazine (click on link below), Phoenix was ranked as one of the best places to live and have a second home.  This reaffirms why we can have confidence in our real estate market!

Is this a good time to buy a house?
The ongoing slide in U.S. housing prices has scared some first-time buyers out of the market. But young couples and growing families still need a place to live. And, if they do their homework, stick to a budget and shop carefully, this may be a great time to take the plunge. The Answer Desk, by msnbc.com's John W. Schoen
