Why should you list your home now?
We hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend! Many people who are thinking of selling their home decide to wait until after the holidays to put it on the market. It is true that, statistically, sales decrease during the holidays. Many people don't want to deal with getting the house ready or dealing with showings while also getting it ready for holidays. But here are some key things to think about if you are planning to list your home for sale after the holidays instead of now.
Anyone looking for a home at this time of the year is a serious buyer. If your home is not on the market, they can’t buy it.
This time of the year is a great time to have your home on the market. Unlike other climates where sales are slow during the winter, sales here in the Phoenix area pick up again in January. This is due in part to many winter visitors and tourists. Relocations are typically higher this time of year as well. During the holiday season, many buyers will be more accomodating on viewing times. If you are decorating for the holidays, it will probably feel more homey to a prospective buyer.
If you remember the basics that apply anytime a home is for sale then you will be in good shape. Have it well priced. Make sure it is in good condition. And do what you can to make it accessible to potential buyers. Talk to us about having a strong marketing plan in place.
