We are almost to the end of September, and property taxes for the first half of this year are due the first of October.  Considering this, we thought we would provide a little primer on Arizona property taxes. We won't try to give you an idea of how they are assessed, as it is a strange and complicated formula, but the following timeline will help you avoid any penalties.  Don't forget that if you include your taxes in your monthly mortgage payment to be paid through escrow, you won't have to make these payments as described, but you should know the process anyway.

We hope you had a great weekend.  Today we are going to add one more installment to the loan aspect of purchasing a home.  When you apply for a loan, there are many things that the lender will ask for.  The following is a basic outline.  Not all items may be requested by your lender, but this list will help you prepare.

Sales contract on the purchase of your new home.

Copy of the certified closing statement on your present home if applicable.

Copy of Social Security card and Driver's license (for FHA loans)

Your employment history, including:

There are all kinds of information that you will need to supply to a lender when applying for a loan.  This information helps them determine whether you truly qualify or not.  Additionally, there are some things you can do on your own to help ensure that the whole process remains glitch free.

Do not change jobs if you can avoid it.  Changing jobs before or during the loan process can create problems when qualifying for a loan, especially if the job is in a different line of work, or results in a decrease in pay.
