Fun things to do this weekend in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area

Text of the video below

Hi, I’m Adam Tarr with Citywide Real Estate.  Today is November 11, 2010, Veteran’s Day.  Remember that this day isn’t about the sales or the day off but it’s all about honoring and supporting the members of our armed services, past and present.  We all enjoy the freedoms we hold dear because of these brave men and women.

I thought I’d mention some of the great activities that are available throughout the valley this weekend.  Whether you live here full time or are just visiting, there is always so much to do.

In Phoenix you’ll find a couple of festivals this weekend including Chiles and Chocolate Festival at the Desert Botanical Garden Friday through Sunday (12-14th) featuring food, entertainment and of course the gorgeous grounds of the Desert Botanical Garden.  Also Friday night there will Music in the Garden, what they are billing as Hot Birds and Chili Sauce.  Check out www.DBG.org for more info.

On Staurday the 13th, check out the the Certified Local Fall Festival Now in its 6th year, celebrating Arizona's locally owned businesses with a bang! This family-friendly street festival includes over 60 booths with activities for the whole family. Even better, admission is free. Food, drinks, and music from local bands as well.  Check out www.localfirstaz.com

In Scottsdale this weekend you’ll find  The Scottsdale Festival of Greece runs Fri – Sun at the civic center mall.  Greek food, music and dancing all weekend.  MMMM Baklava, my mouth is watering just thinking of it. Check it out at www.azgreekfest.com

In Fountain Hills this weekend is the The Fountain Festival of Arts & Crafts featuring nearly 500 artists, artisans and gourmet food provisioners.  Food, art, and musical acts all weekend, and it’s free to walk around. Check out http://www.fountainhillschamber.com/ for more info.

In Gilbert  You’ll find the Gilbert Days Parade. On Saturday the 13th starting at 9 AM The Theme of the Parade this year is “Happy 90th Birthday Gilbert! Remembering the Past…Imagining the Future”. The Parade will be rolling down Gilbert Road. with horses, bikes, soldiers, antique cars, clowns, scouts, bands, dance troops, tractors, fire trucks, and police cars. A great way to relax in the coolness of a fall morning and take in the sights and sounds of an old fashioned parade. The After Parade Party will be hosted by the Gilbert Historical Museum and entertainment will include live band performances, family fun activities, and food

There are always plenty of ongoing activities as well, so get out and enjoy the great weather and have some fun.
