Hi, I am Adam Tarr with Citywide Real Estate in Phoenix,AZ. Today I want to cover some of the reasons we are a prime destination for vacation home owners. We are only a couple days into November and I am seeing lot’s of out of state license plates. When I have travelled to Canada in the past to do seminars on vacation home buying, I often get questions about our area versus other vacation destinations. My answer is simple: If all you want is golf and a pool, there are other choices. But if you want a little more to your lifestyle in your vacation home, I don’t think the Valley of the Sun can be beat. The average high temp for Scottsdale for the month of November is 78.6 F, 25.6 C. We have more than 330 sunny days annually. Scottsdale boasts more than 600 restaurants, and tons of shopping opportunities from everyday items to high end stores only found in a few locations in the world. Scottsdale is also the nightlife destination of the Valley of the Sun with trendy nightclubs, sophisticated lounges and cozy wine bars.
The Valley of the Sun is also home to teams in the four major sports leagues, the NFL, NHL, NBA and MLB, as well as home to spring training Cactus league baseball, major NASCAR races, WNBA, college sports (ASU) and more. Add to that galleries, museums, and theatre, and you have just about anything you could want for a perfect vacation destination.
And that’s not all. I you want to do a little travelling, we are situated in the middle of the state with day trip destinations to keep you busy. The Grand Canyon is only a four hour drive, Sedona 1.5 hours, Tucson 1.5 hours, and so many wonderful little towns, natural parks and sights close by. If you want to go a little further, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas are only a 5-6 hour drive or 1 hour flight from Phoenix and Scottsdale.
Do you crave the water? There are numerous boating lakes within an hour drive of most of the Valley. Is a beach your thing? Aside from the California beaches, Rocky Point, Mexico is only a 4 hour drive.
